Art Basel Paris 2026: 23 to 25 October at the Grand Palais
Art Basel Paris returns to the Grand Palais from 23 to 25 October 2026 for its fifth edition. More than 200 galleries from 41 countries and territories take over the restored nave, around sixty of them based in France. Since taking over from the FIAC, the fair has become the major contemporary art event of the Paris calendar.
The week at a glance
- 20 October: Avant-Première, by invitation
- 21 and 22 October: preview days
- 22 October: vernissage
- 23, 24 and 25 October: open to the public, Grand Palais, 3 avenue du Général Eisenhower, 75008 Paris
The fair is organised in three sectors: Galeries for the core programme, Emergence for younger galleries and rising artists, and Premise for the most singular curatorial proposals. A public programme, staged with several Paris institutions, also takes over landmark sites across the city.
The Marais, the other address for contemporary art
Here is what few visitors plan for: during Art Basel week the galleries of the upper Marais hold one opening after another. Perrotin, Thaddaeus Ropac, Karsten Greve and around thirty others sit a few streets from Hotel Beaubourg, on rue de Turenne, rue Debelleyme and rue du Temple. The Pompidou Centre and the Picasso Museum are both part of what there is to discover in the Marais.
In other words, you sleep in the middle of the circuit, not merely near the Grand Palais.
Getting to the Grand Palais from the hotel
- 5 minutes on foot to Hotel de Ville station
- Line 1 direct to Champs-Élysées – Clemenceau, around 12 minutes
- 5 minutes on foot to the Grand Palais entrance
About 25 minutes door to door, with no changes, which makes it easy to stop back at the hotel between the fair and an evening opening.
