With the exhibition Paris 1874. The Impressionist Moment, the Musée d’Orsay in Paris is celebrating the anniversary of the birth of Impressionism. This movement was born on April 15, 1874 during the first impressionist exhibition organized by painters who would become famous, such as Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Berthe Morisot, Camille Pissarro, Alfred Sisley and Paul Cézanne. The exhibition presented at the Musée d’Orsay brings together nearly 130 works and takes a new look at this significant date in the history of painting. It highlights the richness of creation at this time and the modernity of emerging impressionist art.
